Chef John shows you 2 ways on making simple and perfect rice and easy dinner using rice cooker at home. All you need is a tomato, a few ingredients of your choice, and a rice cooker.

1 tbsp Garlic, Minced [Sauce]
1 tbsp Shallot, Thinly Sliced [Sauce]

1 tbsp Soy Sauce [Sauce]
1 tsp Oyster Sauce [Sauce]

Step 1 Cut the ham meat, carrots, mushrooms, and celery into small pieces.
Step 2 Remove the corn kernels from the cob.
Step 3 In the rice cooker, add in both kinds of rice, mix evenly, then add water. Then add the following ingredients on top of the rice: one tomato in the center, then diced ham, green beans, mushrooms, carrot, celery, and corn on the side.
Step 4 Prepare the sauce (to be mixed with the cooked rice). In a pan with cooking oil over high heat, stir fry the minced garlic and thinly sliced shallots until fragrant.
Step 5 In the same pan, add water, soy sauce, oyster sauce, a pinch of sugar, white vinegar to taste, chopped green onion to taste, and the red chili slices. Stir for a little while until the sauce thickened. Remove from the heat.
Step 6 After the rice cooker is done, pour the sauce into the rice, then mix well to serve.
