Recipe: Healthy Raw Cacao Superfood Energy-Boosting Balls

Looking for a guilt-free chocolate treat? Whether you need an afternoon pick-me-up, are an avid snacker, or have a seemingly insatiable sweet tooth, these superfood cacao energy balls may very well be what’s been missing in your life.

This recipe is:

  • Healthy

  • Easy to make

  • Packed with antioxidants

  • Full of healthy fats

  • Mood & energy boosting

  • Perfect as a snack and/or dessert

Here’s a quick run down what makes these superfoods, well, super *wink.*

Cacao is a good source of iron, calcium, and magnesium, and it contains more antioxidants than blueberries. It’s also contains a notable source of theobromine, a bitter alkaloid, which has a very similar molecular component and effect as caffeine.

Camu Camu and Baobab are both high in Vitamin C, so they both aid in boosting energy levels. Dates are high in fiber which helps with digestion, are full of disease-fighting antioxidants, and are great natural sweeteners.

Enough chit chatting. Let’s make these delicious chocolate orbs.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Large bowl

  • Spoon or whisk

  • Blender or food processor



  1. In a large bowl, lightly mixcombine Sun Potion’s cacao blend, 100% cacao powder, camu camu powder, and baobab powder.

  2. Pour in coconut oil and stir until there are no more chunks. If the mixture is too watery, add more cacao powder; if the mixture is too thick, add more coconut oil. Set aside.

2. Blend or process dates until the consistency becomes sticky, thick, and paste-like..

3. Add dates into the cacao mixture and stir until combined.

4. Add a handful of unsweetened coconut flakes into the mixture and stir until coconut flakes are completely coated.

5. Use your hands to roll mixture into bite-sized spheres.

6. (Optional) Roll cacao balls in coconut shreds to make them look like ferrero rocher *drool.*

Transfer the cacao balls onto a plate.

7. Enjoy now, or store in the fridge to munch on the next day!
