My Favorite Green Smoothie Recipe | Rowena Tsai

Fail proof green smoothie packed with fruits & veggies that actually tastes bomb. I promise. It's also banana-free if you're like me and think bananas can be, well, too banana-y (read: overwhelming).

This smoothie is:

  • Light

  • Refreshing

  • Hydrating

  • Nourishing for the mind, body, and soul

  • Packed with antioxidants and vitamins

  • High in fiber (yay gut health!)

In this recipe, fruits and leafy greens are nutrient powerhouses; lemon juice helps the body flush out toxins; and spirulina, a green-blue algae, provides an extra boost of protein and fatty acids which is great for the skin and body.

Enough chit chatting, here's the goods!


  • 1 cup of pineapple

  • 1 cup of mango

  • Some cucumber slices

  • 4 leaves of parsley

  • 2 handfuls of spinach

  • 1 pear (sliced)

  • 1 apple (sliced)

  • Hand-full of green grapes

  • Juice of half a lemon

  • 1 teaspoon of Spirulina powder

  • 36 ounces of water


Add all the fruits and veggies in the blender (I usually throw in frozen fruits first per my blender's manual's request). Pour in water. Add spirulina. Blend until velvety smooth, and enjoy!

Water could be subbed for your nut milk of choice (it'll be creamier) or not from concentrate orange juice (potential sugar overload but 100% fail proof recipe considering how sweet OJ is on it's own).
